Thank you for purchasing your new blog template from Splat Designs!

Here are a few steps to get you up and running as quick as possible

 

Before proceeding with your blog makeover, please make sure you backup your current template (instructions below), AND you note down all of your "Page Elements."  Once you have completed your blog template makeover, you will need to re-add all of your page elements.  You will NOT loose your posts, only items in your side bar, etc...

 


1. Log into your Blogger account and navigate to the "Blogger Dashboard"

2. Click on the "Layout" link for the blog you want to makeover

3. Click on the "Edit HTML" link towards the top left corner of your window

***CAUTION***

Before updating your blog template, be sure to take a backup of your existing template.  To do this, click on the "Download Full Template" link at the top of the "Edit HTML" screen.  You will be asked to download a XML file.  Save this file in a convientant location should you decide to return to your old blog design.

Splat Designs is not responsible for any lost information or changes to your blog design, template or posts.

Once you have saved a backup of your current design, you can proceed with your blog makeover

 

4. Next, click on the "Browse" button located under the "Backup/Restore Template" section of the "Edit HTML" screen.

5. Locate the directory on your computer where you saved your purchased Splat template.  NOTE: This is NOT the file you created during your backup.  Select the Splat-xxxxxx.XML template file.

6. The "Upload a template from a file on your hard drive" box should be popluated with the location of your file.  Click the "Upload" button (NOTE: Blogger may warn you about your page elements being deleted.  If you followed the instructions above, you should be ok, if you didn't you may want to before accepting the changes).

7. You are all done.  Simply re-add your page elements and you are proud not owner of a Splat Designs blog template!
